Rodin: Drawing, Cutting Out

For the first time, all of Rodin’s cut-out figures are presented here in their entirety. This avant-garde technique, which experienced significant development in the twentieth century, highlights the master’s extraordinary creativity and boldness from a fresh perspective. Rodin used cut-outs in his black drawings prior to 1890—where the central artistic theme of the mask unfolds in a fascinating way—as well as in his works after 1900, in which color delights the eye.
